Autumn has always been our season, our world, our whole fuckin\u2019\u00a0vibe<\/em>. Fifteen years ago, in October of 2009, Eirik and Monica released the first issue<\/a> of\u00a0Jersey Devil Press<\/em>\u00a0to rampage its way through readers\u2019 imaginations. Since then we have expanded to include poetry as well as speculative fiction, changed captains a few times, published work from hundreds of talented writers, and experienced a devastating loss that I discussed in the note<\/a> for the previous issue and am still grappling with as I type this one. Still\u2014more than ever, maybe\u2014art matters, and we are tail-thumpingly glad to have a new batch of stories and poems to share in this anniversary issue<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Short form fans will dig Randy Brooks\u2019 haiku<\/a> and Sydney Wagner\u2019s \u201cAutopsy of a Relationship<\/a>,\u201d while Nikki Allen\u2019s \u201cCatch<\/a>\u201d and Simon MacCulloch\u2019s \u201cDeath of Light<\/a>\u201d serve up some fresh rhymes. If you\u2019re of a narrative disposition, slink through \u201cDillon\u2019s Door<\/a>\u201d with Charlie Kieft and live the \u201cCheese Life<\/a>\u201d with Cass Noah. Admire the beauty and blood of the cover art by Bianca Blauth, “Hand Rose<\/a>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
