Clark<\/p>\n<p>It is always the same stories that we tell<br \/>\nof women with fish tails and hair<br \/>\ncaught full of seaweed and we<br \/>\nnever remember how the feel<br \/>\nof water constant and pressing<br \/>\nmust have been. She saw<br \/>\nvillages overtaken by waves,<br \/>\nshe imagined constellations of star<br \/>\nfish, and when she wept it tasted<br \/>\nthe same as the sea and so she never<br \/>\nknew when she was actually sad.<br \/>\nHer fingers caressed the bones of sailors,<br \/>\ndrowned in storm or mutiny, and she<br \/>\nthought that men were only skeletons, and she<br \/>\nwondered how they danced, if they clicked<br \/>\nand clattered as they did. She fell in love<br \/>\nwith a shark once, but the shark left her<br \/>\nbehind, movement was life, forward was<br \/>\nbreath. She spent one morning watching<br \/>\nthe sky filter down to her and then she<br \/>\nwas given the choice between eternity under<br \/>\nand a moment with the sun. And in the<br \/>\nflash of dissolving, of filled with stars, of glow,<br \/>\nshe thought she remembered land, how it<br \/>\nwas to feel the earth turning beneath her<br \/>\nfeet, like dancing.<\/p>\n<p><b>CHLOE N.
